General Manager
Job Description
Our client in Southern Alberta has an immediate opening for a General Manager.
The Opportunity:
- Provide oversight and direction to all departments within the dealership to drive business results and profitability
- Lead, manage and support department managers and employees to hold them accountable to achieving current business and productivity goals and improve profitability and efficiency
- Model and champion our company values in day-to-day leadership to create a positive, motivating workplace which maximizes employee engagement and supports the well- being of employees
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management of managers while taking an active role in developing talent within the dealership for the future
- Train, coach and mentor department managers and employees on industry best practices
- Develop compensation plans for all employees
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, ensuring our employees make customer satisfaction a priority to create customer loyalty, generate referrals and enhance the reputation of the dealership in the community
- Plan all aspects of dealership operations including setting productivity and sales forecasts, managing expenses and developing monthly and annual goals for all departments within the dealership
Experience:
- Proven leadership ability and team building skills to effectively motivate, inspire and manage employees
- A team player committed to working with leadership and employees to ensure goal alignment and achievement
- Excellent knowledge of operations and business process and the ability to read and analyze financial statements
- Strong analytical and decision making skills with a continuous improvement pedigree
- Results driven with exceptional planning, organization and execution skills
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to use tact, sensitivity, empathy and professionalism when interacting with customers and employees
- A passion to be involved in and connected to the community through various activities and volunteer opportunities
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership capacity within a dealership
- Experience in both the variable and fixed operations sides of the business would be an asset
- Post secondary education in dealership management, business or a related area of study in preferred
