Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Description


The Opportunity:
Our client is searching for an Accounts Payable Clerk. He/she will be responsible for monitoring and controlling all Accounts Payable to ensure necessary payments and to implement the appropriate actions to remedy outstanding balances as follows:
* Ensure that all Accounts Payable and related functions are performed effectively and efficiently.
Maintains accurate and current files for all Suppliers Invoices
* Contact and work with Department Managers as necessary to report and resolve discrepancies in Accounts and Schedules
* Contact suppliers as necessary to resolve account discrepancies
* To know, understand, apply and strictly adhere to all municipal, provincial and federal legislation as it pertains to the dealership and his/her job function
* Monitors and advises Secretary Treasurer of any discrepancies and/or deficiencies in procedures or pipework related to his/her area of responsibility

Job Description:
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
Daily:
* Code Accounts Payable Invoices for data entry
* Data entry of Accounts Payable Invoices.
* Ensure Accounts Payable Invoices are signed for payment
* Match Accounts Payable Invoices to Purchase Orders
* Various Accounts Payable filing
* Generate other cheques as necessary
Weekly:
* Post General Motors Invoices
* Maintain Accounts Payable GL # 300
* Maintain Sublet Account # 246
Monthly:
* Reconcile Accounts Payable Schedule to Supplier Statements
* Run Batch Accounts Payable cheques
* Contact Accounts Payable vendors for missing invoices
* Pay fixed and Semi-Fixed Expenses
